The Potegowo Project

Potęgowo wind farm, includes 98 wind turbines with a total capacity of 257 MW. Mashav finalised the construction of the third stage of Potęgowo wind farm in March 2023. This project is currently the largest onshore wind farm in Poland and one of the largest in Europe.
Investment details

At Mashav Energia, we develop productive and competitive renewable energy solutions.

Potęgowo wind farm is located in the northwestern and southwestern parts of the Słupsk County in the Pomeranian voivodeship, and near the northeastern border of the West Pomeranian voivodeship – at a minimum distance of 9 kilometres from the Baltic Sea shoreline.

The wind farm’s total capacity is 257 MW. It consists of 68 turbines with a 2.75 MW capacity (reaching heights of up to 110 meters), 13 turbines with a 2.5 MW capacity (at a height of 98 meters), and 17 turbines with a 2.2 MW capacity (reaching 100 meters height).

The placement of wind turbines was meticulously planned, taking into account various environmental factors, including noise regulations, ecological corridors, protected natural and landscape areas, valuable plant habitats, and bird migration routes.

Mashav Management, an affiliate of Mashav Energia, managed the construction of the wind farm and is currently managing its operation and maintenance using its team of qualified engineers and technical managers who contribute their extensive experience in the energy industry.

Our valued partners

The project operates under the current model of supporting renewable energy projects, based on auctions carried out by the Energy Regulatory Office. The investment is financed by a consortium of six financial institutions, including the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) as the lead arranger, DNB Bank Polska S.A., Bank Pekao S.A., mBank, as the agent, Intesa Sanpaolo and PZU.

Our investments

Our wind turbines incorporate the significant advancements in load control, low noise emission, efficient energy conversion, and reliable efficiency.

It is estimated that the construction of the Potęgowo wind farm reduces carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 514,000 tons per year. In addition to reducing greenhouse gas emissions, the investment contributes to reducing combustion-related emissions.

Environmental noise standards are not exceeded anywhere close to the project area. The shadow flicker effect, despite the lack of legal regulations in this respect are voluntarily monitored by the company.

The wind turbine system has been designed in such a way as to by-pass bird migration routes, bird groupings, feeding or nesting areas.

The project was included in regional development plans and it will provide additional tax revenues for local communities, among other things, in the form annual property fees.

The implementation of the investment will bring other benefits for local communities, including the reconstruction of energy installations, new employment opportunities, and improvement of local road infrastructure. The land for the investment was obtained under lease contracts signed with land owners.
